Valmet, a long-standing player in the Chinese pulp and paper industry, is set to supply a state-of-the-art fine paper making line to Yueyang Forest Paper. Scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2024, this collaboration marks a significant milestone in the enduring partnership between the two entities.
Xiangdong Zhu, the Area President of Valmet China, expressed enthusiasm about the project, citing the company’s 90-year history in China and the strong rapport established with Yueyang Forest Paper over the years. “We feel honored and confident to build the new PM 11 together with them,” Zhu stated.
The comprehensive delivery package encompasses a range of high-speed components, including a fine paper making line from stock preparation to reel and winders, complete with air systems and clothing for the entire production process. The stock preparation segment involves bale pulping, cleaning, refining, as well as broke, white water, and approach flow systems.
Among the cutting-edge components to be delivered are the OptiFlo Gap headbox, OptiFormer Gap forming section, and OptiPress Linear press section. Following these, the drying section will be complemented by an OptiSizer Film surface sizer, an OptiCalender Soft calender, and an OptiReel Center center-driven reel, among other crucial elements.
In addition to the hardware, the wide-ranging automation package will incorporate the Valmet DNA Automation System for process and sectional drive controls, runnability, and condition monitoring, along with the Valmet IQ Quality Control System. Notably, the delivery will also include paper machine clothing, spare parts, and consumables.
The paper machine, boasting an impressive 11,150 mm wide fabric, is designed to produce a diverse range of woodfree uncoated, offset, and copy paper grades, with a basis weight range of 50–120 g/m2. The anticipated design speed of the machine is set at 1,800 m/min, promising enhanced efficiency and productivity for Yueyang Forest Paper’s operations.
