Hasan Paper Plans To Produce White Liner, Kraft Liner and Simplex Board Paper

Newly started Hasan Paper (Unit-2) kraft paper mill in Bogura.  Lots of new capacities are entering in paper making to mainly cater the export market. “Packaging paper is achieving double digit growth among all other segments and this trend may continue for next 3 to 5 years. This could be a golden period for Kraft paper and we want to explore this opportunity to the full extent.” Explained by A.T.M Shafiqul Hasan, Managing Director of Hasan Pulp & Paper Mills Ltd. to Bangladesh Pulp & Paper Magazine.

 “We are coming up a 150 TPD State-of-kraft liner paper manufacturing facilities in Bogura. We have invested around BDT. 150 cr. To produce White top Liner, Kraft Liner and High quality simplex board Paper on the same machine setup. Initially, we are targeting to export 50 percent production to overseas market and rest to be sold in domestic market.”

 “We are expected to reel out first trial production in November or December 2020 and may go for full commercial production by January end. Our aim is to manufacture High quality white liner & kraft liner Paper with GSM range from 150 to 450 and BF will be 24 to 32”

Hasan Paper has imported all the plant and machinery from India, China & Europe while the framing of machine is to be done indigenously by Khalsha Engineering Works, India. The machine deckle is 3.2 meter and speed is 

Designed at around 300 m/m. This QCS integrated new paper mill will have all the modern components to achieve the higher quality paper. “The construction works at the site is going on in full swing and pulp mill from Parason Machinery has already been installed. In couple of months, the installation process of equipment and machinery will finished” Mr. Hasan explained further.

 “We are also focusing on food grade paper manufacturing in future and for this we have ordered special equipment from china. Food grade specialty paper is known for odour and bacterial free, we are importing foreign Technology to make this paper as par standard. We will also put in place a water treatment plant considering all the environmental norms and conditions” Mr. Hasan said.

Hasan Paper Kraft will import about 90 percent OCC grade recycled fiber as raw material. This new paper mill will be providing employment around 150 to 200 people in the region and is expected to invest further in Specialty paper manufacturing in coming future.

Packaging paper & board segment accounting for nearly 52% of the total paper demand in Bangladesh and is the largest segment in the industry. Rising urbanization, increasing penetration of organized retail, higher growth in FMCG, pharmaceutical and processed food industries etc. are the growth drivers of the segment.
